Training

CoomberSewell Training CIC is a newly formed Community Interest Company, built on years of expertise in autism and education enablement. Our goal is to benefit the autistic community(ies) and those working to increase their employability through training opportunities. We believe these goals support each other.

The Autism Awareness (Younger People – under 18yrs old) course is targeted towards those who have autistic family members or work with autistic young people, or who may not even be aware that the young people they work with are autistic.  It is also aimed at those who transport this client group, minibus drivers, taxi drivers, transport escorts etc.

Designed and delivered by an autistic trainer who herself brought up autistic children and now works with autistic university students. The course covers basic autism awareness, before addressing issues such as diffusing difficult situations, dealing with sensory overload, transporting autistic children, ideal vehicle adaptations and how to ensure that the journey is as pleasurable experience as possible for passengers, driver, and escort alike.

The course can be delivered as a one day or 2 consecutive half days and is primarily delivered through guided discussion supported by a workbook packed with hints and tips. This can preferable presented Face to Face or under special circumstances over Zoom.

There are two forms of verification, an Attendance Certificate or CPD Certification at two different prices.

COURSE 2

The Autism Awareness (Older People – over 18yrs old) just like the younger peoples course its target audience is very similar though anyone over 18 who is autistic, or believes they maybe autistic is also welcome to join.
