Training Tailored for You
At CoomberSewell Training CIC, our courses are designed with you in mind. With years of experience in autism and education, we understand the value of learning that empowers you. Our courses are aimed specifically at those on the autism spectrum with normal to higher IQs, as well as anyone seeking to enhance their understanding and skills in this area. By joining, you open doors to knowledge that can boost your employability and deepen your insight into autism.
Flexible Accreditation Options for Your Needs: CPD accreditation OR certificate of attendance
If CPD accreditation isn’t your goal, you have the choice to receive a certificate of attendance at a slightly reduced price. This way, you can choose what best meets your objectives without compromising the quality of your learning experience.
When you enrol in Courses 1 and 2, you’re guided by an autistic trainer who understands firsthand what it’s like to navigate life with autism. As a late-diagnosed autistic woman, mother, and grandmother to autistic children, she brings unparalleled personal and professional experience to each session. Whether you’re autistic yourself, supporting an autistic friend, family member, clients or colleague, these courses offer YOU insights and skills designed to help you connect, understand, and support others.
Course 1: Autism Awareness for Younger People (Under 18s)
If you work with young people who are, or may be, autistic, this course equips you with the awareness and the strategies you need. Whether you’re a young autistic over the age of 12, family member, friend, or professional—such as a minibus driver, taxi driver, or transport escort—this course is designed to help YOU understand and support younger autistic individuals. You’ll learn the basics of autism awareness and delve into practical approaches for diffusing challenging situations, managing sensory overload, and transporting autistic children safely.
Course 2: Autism Awareness for Older People (18+)
Whether you’re an autistic adult, family member, or someone in a professional role who may not even be aware of working with autistic adults, this course provides the insights and tools YOU need. The course explores the unique challenges that older autistic individuals face, such as “masking” (a concept you’ll explore in-depth) and the unfortunate reality of misdiagnoses, like dementia, which can arise as masking becomes harder with age.
Course 3: Conference Communication for the Conference Phobic
Delivered by an expert conference communicator, this course is designed to equip you with the skills essential for success as an academic, researcher, or business professional presenting at a conference. Imagine feeling confident in your delivery—no more awkward silences or feeling like your presentation skills fall short of your expertise. You’ll learn practical techniques borrowed from the world of performance, focusing on posture, stance, tone, and pacing. Through case studies and hands-on practice, you’ll gain the tools to make your message resonate with your audience. Additionally, this course prepares you for every aspect of the conference environment, covering networking tips, dress code, and the subtle nuances that make a lasting impression. This course is about empowering you to stand out, connect meaningfully, and present your work with confidence.
Flexible Delivery to Suit You
Choose the format that fits your schedule. You can complete these courses in one full day or over two half-day sessions, either in-person or via Zoom. Every session includes guided discussions, backed by a workbook full of practical tips you can use right away. Prefer an online, self-paced option? We also offer a non-interactive, online version of our courses. While this option does not include a workbook or CPD accreditation, it’s a more affordable way to access valuable information at your own pace.
